Turn the lights on after dinner and it becomes the thing everybody photographs on the way past the tree. It is a display piece rather than a prop: painted resin, a weight you can feel when you pick it up, and a face that works for a dog lover even after the season is over.

What is in the box:
- 1 x black pug statue in a red Santa coat (one solid resin statue, no assembly), with the batteries for the coat lights and the small screwdriver for the base cover

Setting it up:

Step 1: Lift it out with two hands under the body, not by the hat or the bell, and take the packing away from the coat and the bulb string.
Step 2: Turn it over and open the cover plate on the underside of the base with the small screwdriver in the box.
Step 3: Fit the batteries the way the panel on the back of the box shows, refit the cover and tighten both screws, then switch the coat lights on to check them.
Step 4: Stand it on a level surface where the hat has clearance and people will walk past it after dark, which is where the bulbs read best.

Care instructions:

An indoor piece. The battery box sits in the base, so keep it off wet grass and wet paving and bring it in when it rains.
Dust with a dry soft cloth, working along the coat and around the bulbs. A cloth barely damp with water is enough for a mark, and no cleaner anywhere near the painted trim.
Take the cells out of the base before it goes into storage. Batteries left in a box for eleven months are the usual way these pieces come back dead.
Switch the lights off when nobody is in the room. There is no dimmer and no timer, so the switch on the base is all it has.
After the season, pack it upright with the hat and the bell supported rather than crushed under other decor.

Please note: Due to the difference in monitor and light effect, the actual color and size of the item may be slightly different from the visual image. Furthermore, please be noted this is a lighted display statue, not a toy and not a lamp you can carry - the bulbs are fixed in the coat and the switch is on the base, with no dimmer and no remote.
