Setting it up:

Step 1: Hang from a branch, a gate arm, a porch beam or a stair newel with the rope clear to move; a doll tied still is a doll with no effect.
Step 2: Put the three AAA cells in and test it with a clap before you hang it, and set the height so the head is out of reach for a child and still low enough to see the face.
Step 3: Give her a dark backing - a wall, a hedge, the inside of a doorway - so the red eyes and the swing both read from the street.

Care instructions:

Take the cells out at the end of the season; sound modules die from corrosion far more often than from use.
Spot clean the fabric and let the dress dry fully before storage, since the stuffing is what holds the damp.
Bring her in for a storm - the swing joint takes the wind hardest and it is the part that eventually tears.
