Two pieces that are meant to go together: a 49 in tarantula across the legs, black with a hairy finish and red eyes, and a 126 in stretch web in white polyester thread with hand-knotted joints. Every leg bends and holds a pose, so the spider can hang off a doorframe with the legs braced, or sit mid-web with the legs folded under it. The web is elastic, which is the point - it goes from a bundled thing in the bag to a stretch across a porch, a fence or two trees, and it survives rain and wind on the way.

What is in the box:

Setting it up:

Step 1: Fix the web at both ends first and stretch it in stages, a foot at a time, so the load spreads instead of pulling one anchor out.
Step 2: Tie the spider into the web rather than resting it on top: a six-ounce spider on a stretched net walks off the first time the wind changes.
Step 3: Bend the legs one at a time close to the body, not at the middle of the leg, where the wire eventually kinks.

Care instructions:

Shake the web dry before storage; polyester thread left damp in a bag is what mildews.
Fold the spider legs back against the body and pack it on top of the web, not under it, so nothing crushes the wire flat.
Wipe the body with a damp cloth and let it air dry - the hairing holds dust and will shed it the same way.

Please note: Due to the difference in monitor and light effect, the actual color and size of the item may be slightly different from the visual image. Furthermore, please be noted this is a decoration, not a toy, for ages 14 and up. Hooks and stakes are not in the box - the spider and the web both tie or pin to something you supply. Stretch the web a little at a time: it is elastic, and pulling it to its full 126 in on two soft anchor points is how it ends up on the ground by morning. Hang it above head height or across a wall nobody walks through.
